Work For Hire - What does it mean? Ask Tom Richmond
If you've ever been asked to sign a work for hire agreement and have been confused as to what the term means, you're not alone. Tom Richmond gives am excellent summary of "work for hire" on his blog, The Mad Blog, without the confusing legal jargon. Although the entry is from 2007, it's still a relevant article and worth reading. In fact, there is a ton of great information to read on his blog. He even has a great feature called, Sunday Mailbag. If you have a question you want answered for the mailbag about cartooning, illustration, MAD Magazine, or caricature work, you can email him and he'll answer it on his blog. Free advise from an expert - you can't beat that.
